From atop a crest of distress,
I gaze down into the dale of love.
Yearning to take the plunge
Yet uncertain so that I may drown, or worse,
Be carried headlong by the cataracts
Towards a sea of death,
Of my mind and soul.
Will there be hands to pull me back?
I know not, and yet I leap,
As End is better than an infinite wait

excellent post :)but I somehow disagree.. :P As u mention "As End in better than an infinite wait", you say this stading at one end of the river, but when you actually cross the river, your perspective changes and you would say "it is worth the wait" and you find yourself being more worthy to the happiness that your get :)

  2. @ Sam- Thanks Dadabhai!! :D

@ Antara- That's true. You are right. But what if deep down in your heart you know that you'll never get the happiness you want? You keep yearning, and you find that the one thing you want from life will always remain out of your reach?

  3. See... there are two possible replies to your question. You need to ask yourself
    1. Am i seeking the right thing from life ? Am i honest in seeking that?
~~ if the answer to these questions are yes, go ahead and do everything to can to get it. If that means waiting for an infinite time, so be it...(its always better to live for one's own dream and be disappointed than to live in the dream of others)

    2. After you've struggled long enough without any result, ask yourself whether it is really the thing you want (this is the most difficult part), ask God for some direction and he will direct you. Sometimes we go after things that are not really worthy of us, but we never realize it that time. Give it a thought. Perhaps it is something God had never planned for you in the first place...but just gave you a desire so that you struggle, get more refined, evolve into a better person and get a better understanding to recognise the real good things in life.

Believe me, I've faced both of these situations in my life and ultimately realized these.

  4. There's one more thing that comes to my mind... even if you are honest with yourself, just remember that God gave you a free will, but he gave free will to others as well. Chasing after one's dream is right till you don't impose it on others. The idea is to remain honest in your every possible moves and believe me, you'll just earn your luck.. and God would never let you down.
